Trim them down.
Then we are going to pop them, making sure to line them up properly and use your best cutting skills. Keep that rotary straight.
Sew on the replacement with the main unit on top.

Left Handed |
Next, you will make Shaded 4-Patch, we've done these a few times in the series, so just remember to make sure you do your sub cuts as I have them in the directions. Otherwise, the diagrams are mirror images of your fabric.
Trim down the units as you normally would.
This clue, we are popping the Half Square Triangle. Make sure to measure twice and cut once. Sew on the replacement triangle, keeping the unit on top.
Press carefully, lots of exposed bias.
Next, trim them down, making sure to only trim the replacement triangle.

Left Handed |
Tada!
Now for the Quilt Block construction.
You will want to sew them both in the same direction, so turn that bottom row around. The last thing you want to hit is the point. Trying to put that through first will cause your machine to jam.
I highly recommend pinning those points for the center
So pretty!
Next, let's put together the Pop Shaded 4-Patch.
You will need to do some pinning as they do not nest, due to the pressing needed to put the block together.
Press them open.
Lay then it out, double checking orientation.
You will want to mark the Popped Shaded 4-Patch units where your replacement triangle seam meets the 1/4", so that you can precision pin.
Sew you units into rows.
Then the rows together into a block.
These came together easily with marking that 1/4" to line these up perfectly!
Love, love!
Keep stitching,
Michelle
