Baby Steps in the progress category!

Boy, this flu season is just awful in the east.  Keeping battling with it! In between, I have made some progress on my upcoming class samples.  I was able to get my Loco for Lemoyne Star- Winter Jewel to Barbara Bregman to Quilt.  Barbara got it today and she is designing the custom quilting -- so exciting!  We are going to try and enter it into MQX and Vermont Quilt Show.  Both deadlines are early February, so nothing like P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E! Of course, while I was taking pictures, before boxing it up, I couldn't help taking a picture of my Cal Pal in front of it.  He was napping. Then I got some cutting and easy piecing started on my Southern Hospitality.  The light wasn't the best but you get the idea of it's center. This is a terrific quilt to make in the summer.  It comes together ready nice. In between it all... Binding the Loco for Lemoyne Star- Summer Sunshine! Hopefully, some more progress tomorrow!

Quilting on my Loco of Lemoyne- Summer Sunshine

Image
My friend Barbara Bregman, owner of Lupine Longarm Quilting , agreed to Longarm my Loco for Lemoyne Summer Sunshine.  I usually quilt my own but I've very busy making samples, writing patterns, and designing.  I've spent so much  time piecing my Loco for Lemoynes that I didn't want to rush it. I wanted someone who would take the same care with my quilt that I took piecing it.  I know Barbara was my choice!  Since it is a shop sample (going to  Pennington Quilt Works ), I asked her a few weeks ago to reserve a spot for my.  I overnight-ed to her on Monday and she confirmed receipt on Tuesday.  Sent me some samples yesterday and a picture today! Here is a sneak peak. Barbara does such great work! She is overnight-ing it back tonight.  I can't wait to see it.  Then, I bind it and deliver it next weekend to the shop.  Can't wait! I'm need to put the last stitches into my Alternate Color Way and setting, then that one will make the same round trip!

Progress on my Loco for Lemoyne Star Samplers

Image
It took me longer than I thought but I was able to get my Loco for Lemoyne Star Sampler completely pieced.  It is ready for quilting.  This one is going to Pennington Quilt Works where I'm teaching this 2 day class on February 28th and March 1st.   I also pieced a second set of blocks, from Kaffe and solid stash (which is a great way to use up stash) and set it with a different setting.  I still have to put the blocks together, this is just a picture from my design board.    I made this using Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design's Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star ruler and 6 technique sheets.
