 Johnny Cash Star is Clue #5 Johnny Cash Star - Moda's Nutmeg In 1992, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Johnny Cash and stated “Johnny Cash had all the qualities of a country legend: a rich life, a keen instinct for storytelling and an unflinching eye on the world around him.” It is said that Cash’s humble beginnings made him an authentic storyteller whose plainspoken narrative song spoke to the American everyman.  He wrote songs prolifically but never carelessly. Each one of his songs seemed to capture a deeper truth and resonated with the working man.  12 years earlier, in 1980, Johnny Cash was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.   Johnny Cash had 13 #1 Billboard Country hits between the years 1956 and 1976, with 42 of his songs being featured on the Billboard Hot 100 list.  “A Boy Named Sue” achieved the #2 spot and remained there for 12 weeks.  “Ring of Fire”, my husband’s favorite, made it to the #17 spot and remained there for 13 weeks.  When designing this b

 Clue #3 is the Beatles Star! The Beatles Star - Moda's Eufloria In 1988, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the Beatles, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison.  Their introduction stated, “The Fab Four; John, Paul, George, and Ringo, no last names needed, kick started the British Invasion in the US”.  The Beatles formally formed in Liverpool in July 1960, previously known as the Quarrymen, but changed their name to first the “Silver Beatles” and then the “Beatles” in tribute to Buddy Holly and the Crickets.  The Beatles are regarded as the most influential band of all time.   The Beatles produced 13 Studio Albums and one compilation.  They had 20 # 1 hits and 34 Top 10 hits on the Billboard charts.  Not only did they have top songs, but several of their songs, such as “Hey Jude” (19 Weeks) and “Come Together” (16 Weeks) remained top songs for months on the charts.  The Beatles officially broke up on April 10, 1970.  While designing this block, I though

  Clue #2 is Marvin Gaye Star! In 1987, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Marvin Gaye and stated, “Gaye’s singing nurtured the soul, both the audience’s and his own”.  Marvin Gaye embarked on his solo career in 1962, having already played drums for Smokey Robinson and the Miracles as well as other Motown acts.
