What a great idea - Donorschoose.org

Have any of you  heard of the organization Donors Choose?  I had until this week.  My company gave each employee a gift card to http://www.donorschoose.org/ , which allowed each employee to pick a charity of their choosing from the listings on DonorsChoose.org.  DonorsChoose in an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need.  Here's how it works: public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. Requests range from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class.  It also include adult education for the needy.  The website lets you drill down by state, county, poverty level, the subject area, etc.  All the listing are vetted and if you elect to donate more than $50, the students will keep you posted on their progress.  We choose to support music and sewing, our two passions.  I thought I'd share the site, since I found it so appealin
