Whew!  What a busy day yesterday.  MAQ (Mid-Appalachian Quilters) moved to Gettysburg College (Gettysburg, PA) and it was an adjustment for all of us, including us teachers.   Change is hard, however the Board has performed a great job in answering every crisis!  The campus is beautiful.  We had a great ice cream social last night.  It was wonderful catching up with so many of you! Thank you for all the   Birthday wishes, several of my MAQers even brought me a cupcake and had half the Ice Cream social sign me Happy Birthday.  As a Quilt Instructor, I'm often on the road for my birthday, my husband's birthday, my wedding anniversary.... you get the picture.  So, a special thank you to my husband for putting up with me being away on so many special occasions. Yeah another pretty Friday here in Connecticut!   Hopefully the weather holds up for a nice Father's Day weekend. Another busy week here! Majesty Lemoyne is off to the printers!  To create the Majesty Lemoyne I've taken strips of different sizes to create a fabulous looking block, and paired it with a more modern Log Cabin Block.  I added an Empire Border and I love it!  It really comes together easily with the Studio 180 Design's  Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star and Tucker Trimmer III .   You can pre-order your copy here .  They should ship Friday, June 21st. Block 41 is Baton Rouge Block in my Timeless with a Twist Series! It was published in Ladies Art Company in 1922.  Block 41 ~ Baton Rouge Block ~ Michelle's Fabric Selection 1 This block is made up of Diamond Rectangles and Shaded four-patch units.   The Diamond Rects are made with dual-colored side triangles.  The block was also published as just "Baton Rouge", in 1934, by Nancy Page, in the Birmingham News.  However, this is not the Baton Rouge Square, that is a different block.  This block, the Baton Rouge Block, is a perfect block to use a large-scale print in the large center square. With its clean lines, this block would make a great alternate block, as it creates a fabulous secondary design, without stealing the staging from a main block.  Classic, elegant and timeless, just like its namesake the city of Baton Rouge. Week 4 on the road!   This week I'm up in Rangeley, Maine, retreating with some great friends, including Dan and Carol, of Threads Galore Quilt Shop.  Dan and Carol have this fabulous Quilt Inn that you can rent for the week, that allows 7-9 quilters to relax and enjoy a wonderful well-light sun drenched quilting room.   Their quilt shop is directly across the lane, and you can go over and shop whenever you have a quilting emergency (even a small one!).   Be sure to check out their website Threads Galore's Quilt Inn  for available dates, gather some friends and come Sew, Sew, Sew! Sorry all for the delay, it has been a busy week with my Godchild/niece graduating and then driving up to the Vermont Quilt Festival on Thursday!  I love this show. They had a great awards ceremony, it is awesome to see Dave LaValle hand out all those sewing machines to the kids who entered the Children's Category.  Yesterday, I had a great class for Sparkle, Per usually, we had a great time! Today, I'm actually teaching three quilts; Sparkle, Spring Bouquet and Bloom!  It is going to be a busy day.  Then tomorrow, I end with In Flight. So many students came up to me either in Class, at the Preview or at last night's Show and Tell, to tell me what a great time they were having joining in my weekly fun of Timeless with a Twist series!  Many brought their blocks, which I was thrilled to see.    With me busy this week being so busy, and late,  I'm going to give everyone a make-up week.  I know I say this a lot, but this is really one o...
