Pennington Society is Clue #5!
Clue #5 is Pennington Society is dedicated to all of those that have taken classes and retreats with me at the Pennington Quilt Works
Pennington Quilt Works, in NJ, was the first shop that I began teaching my Block of Month/Technique Building Series. After I moved to Connecticut, I started teaching mini-weekend retreats. Often it was the same quilters returning month after month and we all looked forward to getting together, sharing updates, learning, being creative and stitching. I often believe that quilting is 50% about the learning process and 50% about getting together socially and enjoying times with other quilters who have the same passion.
For fabric selection I went with a range of colors and textures.
Cheer and Merriment is my dark collection |
Stitched is my lite and airy collection |
For cutting, just be careful and make sure you are reading my note about color, as well as evaluating your fabric and making sure to use your remnants.

Love this! |
New tool and techniques to the series is introduced in Unit C- The Popped Half Square Triangle made with the Tucker Trimmer and then the Corner Pop!
First you will want to make the HST and trim it to the proper size.
Then we are going to "pop" the dark corner following the instructions in the Clue. Be careful to take your time and measure twice. This needs a precision cut.Right Handed |

Take time to press. Set that seam and finger press. Then press.
Then trim, again measure twice, take time to line up. Check to make sure all the lines line up and you should only be cutting the Replacement Triangle.

So tada!
This Block really comes together easy. My reccomendation is to sew with the V Block on top and use your best quarter inch seam. Follow the pressing instructions and work the nest when you are putting this together.
So TADA! Love, love it!
How are you enjoying the Mystery. I'd love to hear from you either here or on the Facebook page.
Keep stitching,
Michelle
