Lancaster Wish is Clue #15

Image
Clue #15 is Lancaster Wish which is dedicated to all those who joined me and Barbara Dann for Stitchin’ Heaven’s Land Ahoy Lancaster 2022!  It was great to be back teaching in the Lancaster, PA area.  It was so nice to see so many familiar faces that I’ve missed over the last few years.  We had MAQers, Hershey Odyssey Quilters, plus a whole group of Stitchin’ Heaven followers!   I think we had people from almost every state in the USA.

Lucky 14 in Las Vegas!

Image
Clue #14 is Las Vegas Sensation and is dedicated to all those who joined me and Jackie Kunkel for Stitchin’ Heaven’s Land Ahoy Las Vegas 2021!  It was my first in person Retreat since the Covid pandemic and it was so great to be teaching in person again.  We had a fabulous group of quilters from all over the United States.  I remember being a bit frightened to fly to Las Vegas, but once I got to the resort it was wonderful to be in the presence of so many great quilters.

Clue #13 takes us back to Vermont

Image
Clue #13 is Fairlee Ridge and is dedicated to all of those that attended the Spring Quilt Camp at Lake Morey, in Fairlee, VT in 2019.  A great setting in Central Vermont.   The Lake Morey Resort took great care of us with lovely meals and adhering to our pleas for Margaritas on Cinco De Mayo and Mint Juleps for the Kentucky Derby!   We had to cancel Spring Camp 2020 due to Covid, but I continue to look for a fabulous location to host Spring Quilt Camp 2024!  This is a very similar Block to Clue #12, but with the corner units switched to Dual- Color Square-in-Square and the Trees are oriented differently.  Cheer & Merriment and Stitched versions of Fairlee Ridge

Time to head to NH for Clue #12

Image
Clue #12 is Rindge Ridge and is dedicated to all of those that attended the Quilter’s on the Lake Retreat, held at Woodbound Inn, in Ridge, NH in 2017 and 2018.  A fabulous great historical Inn in a beautiful setting for our end of summer retreat.  I couldn’t hold the 2019 retreat due to a scheduling conflict, and I haven’t been able to get a new date that will with my schedule since post-Covid restrictions, but I’d like to try.  It was a beautiful area in New Hampshire, and it brought together a wonderful group of quilters!  The Quilter’s Jeopardy Game held there in 2018 will forever be one of my favorite game. This is a nice easy block for Thanksgiving week.  You will note that on Page 5 of your Clue #12 that I reveal Border B and your updated Center! Rindge Ridge - Cheer and Merriment and Stitched version

Clue 8 is time for QuiltWeek Quad

QuiltWeek Quad is Clue #8!

Heading back to PA to visit Hershey!

Image
Clue #7 is Hershey Odyssey and dedicated to all those who joined me for Hershey's Quilt Odyssey each year.    Quilt Odyssey, held in Hershey, PA, was more of a Quilt Show than a Retreat, but I often thought of it as a Retreat because most of the quilters would stay on property at the Hershey Lodge.  Most of us just called it “Hershey”.   You could select from a range of day classes, and they would set up sewing rooms in the Hotel Tower to allow for evening sewing.  The same quilters would return year after year, some for 20+ years.  I first attended Quilt Odyssey as a quilter and returned to teach from 2014-2019.  Missy, who ran Quilt Odyssey became ill in late 2019 and thus the 2020 show was canceled and has not returned.   I know I’m not alone in stating that Hershey remains my favorite regional Quilt Show and I miss it very much.  For my fabric selection I used a Light that would be ideal for Fussy cutting for my Cheer and Merrim...

Let's head to Connecticut and The Yankee Quilter

Image
Clue #6 is Seymour Gathering and dedicated to all those who have taken classes and retreats with me at The Yankee Quilter, in Seymour, CT.  This Block has a new Unit to the series, the Popped V Block where we will pop a V Block unit.  Some history on the Block - I moved to CT in 2013 and began teaching at The Yankee Quilter, in Seymour CT. It was fate. I walked into the shop to ask about teaching, explaining that I was a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design, designed patterns/Technique Building Series, and stated I’d be interested in teaching at their shop.  I was taken back to the shop owner Cheryl, who held up a sticky note that said, “get Deb Tucker rulers.”   The rest is history! The Yankee Quilter (TYQ) is my local quilt shop! I used to teach at TYQ monthly until my travel schedule became so hectic. Now, I teach three-four Sleep in Your Bed (SIYB) retreats a year at the TYQ, where most Quilters are local and go home to sleep in their own bed. W...
