Diamond Delight is twice the delight!

Double the fun with Diamond Delight A and B! Clue #3 has us using (4) of the Holiday Diamond #1 and #2 from Clue #2.  Plus, we are going to use the same fabric that we used in from Clue #1, with one addition.  We are going to select another dark fabric, to create the new to the series technique, Square-in-Square.  Holiday Blossom Clue #2 is the Diamond Rects!  We are making (8) Holiday Diamond Rect #1 and (8) Holiday Diamond Rect #2!  If you need more information or to join the Mystery go to:  michellereneehiatt.teachable.com/p/holiday-blossom-medallion-mystery-series Fabric Selection - For this week's Clue we are looking for fabric that has a similar background coloring as your Background.  Ideally, it is multi-colored print represents all the colors in your quilt.  The Diamond Rects technique can be a little tricky, but I have some great tips on this week's online Class.  I look forward to seeing your blocks in our online Facebook Mystery Group.  Regards, Michelle

Jersey Girl loves Bon Jovi!

 Clue #15 is the Bon Jovi Star! In 2018, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Bon Jovi.  Their introduction stated, “Over 120 million albums sold.  More than 2,600 concerts around the world.  They've seen well over a million faces- and yes, rocked them all.  Bon Jovi redefined the rock anthem by dominating arenas and captivating audiences with hooks that continue to define the decade.”   Bon Jovi, an American rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey is led by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist and co-songwriter Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, guitarist Phil X, and bassist Hugh McDonald.  Original bassist Alec John Such quit the band in 1994, and Richie Sambora left in 2013.  The Rolling Stones Star! In 1989, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the Rolling Stones.  Their introduction stated, “During their 50-plus year career, the Rolling Stones have married their love of blues and American R&B with a vast array of styles and genres: disco, garage, psychedelic rock and even punk.  The constant through the line, however, has been the band's swagger—thanks first and foremost to the Glimmer Twins, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.”   The Rolling Stones, an English rock band, formed in London, in 1962.   They have toured for six decades.  It is said that they are one of the most popular and enduring bands of the rock era.  In the early 1960s, the Rolling Stones pioneered the gritty, rhythmically driven sound that came to define hard rock.  The Stones found greater success with their own material, as "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (1965), "Get Off of My Cloud" (1965), and "Paint It Black" (1966) all became ...

  Love the U2 Star - We once again have an A version and a B version.  Don't you love the different effect one unit being turned makes? In 2005, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted U2.  Their introduction stated, “Philanthropic.  Hopeful.  Committed.  U2 are proof of the power of music.  While U2 have experimented and evolved musically throughout their career, the core members and their commitment to positive change have remained steady.”   U2, a Irish rock band from Dublin, formed in 1976.  The group consists of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. Initially rooted in post-punk, U2's musical style evolved throughout it’s career, yet has maintained an anthemic quality built on Bono's expressive vocals and the Edge's chiming, effects-based guitar sounds.  Bono's lyrics, often embellished with spiritual imagery, focus on personal and sociopolitical themes.  It is theorized that the musical group U2 derived its n...

 Clue #10 is the Bruce Springsteen Star.  We will be making (2) Bruce Springsteen A Stars and (2) Bruce Springsteen B Stars! Bruce Springsteen Star - Moda's Eufloria In 1999, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Bruce Springsteen.  Their introduction stated, “Bruce Springsteen became a voice of underdogs and the working-class, thanks to his unsparing observations about what life was really like for those with no access to a silver spoon.  As a songwriter, however, he was also deeply romantic and sentimental.  Love the Bee Gees!  One of my favorite Eufloria fabric combo! Bee Gees Star - Moda's Eufloria Bee Gees Star - Moda's Nutmeg In 1997, the brothers Gibb were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an iconic group that produced a decades-spanning catalog of timeless music. From the smash hit soundtrack for the film “Saturday Night Fever” to other classics like “Massachusetts,” “To Love Somebody,” and “Too Much Heaven,” The Bee Gees produced hit after hit for almost five decades.  The Elton John Star is Clue #7!  Elton John Star - Moda's Eufloria In 1994, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Elton John.  Their introduction stated, “Introducing the inimitable, outrageous, larger-than-life king of the charts.  Elton John has delivered everything we want from a rock star and more wild rock anthems, searing ballads, undiluted exuberance, duck costumes for almost fifty years. And he shows no sign of stopping.”  I wonder how many would be surprised to hear that he just now claims to be on his last tour, almost 30 years later.  Elton John, a British musician, and singer-songwriter has over 140 official singles as main artist, 22 as a featured artist, as well as 56 other non-single guest appearances, 2 charity singles, and 3 other charted songs.  While his critical success peaked in the 1970s, when he released a streak of chart-topping singles in the US and UK, including "Tiny Dancer" (1972), "Rocket Man" (1972), "Honky Cat" (1972...

  Van Morrison Star is Clue #6! Van Morrison Star- Moda's Eufloria In 1993, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Van Morrison and stated, “Consistent. Steadfast. Enigmatic. Van Morrison is an artist in the purest sense.  Van Morrison’s body of work is one of outstanding quality and quantity. His songs are like the incantation of a mystic, bewitching listeners with intricate lyrics and that unforgettable voice.”   Sir George Van Morrison, known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter. In the early 1960s Van Morrison was part of the “Them” band prior to breaking out on his own in 1967.  His first solo album was actually released without his knowing.  He recorded 8 songs expecting them to be released as 4 singles, but his record company had other plans.  One of those songs was “Brown Eyed Girl” which was later released as a single and made it to #10 on the US Billboard Chart.  His most-played song, “Brown Eyed Girl”, ...

 Johnny Cash Star is Clue #5 Johnny Cash Star - Moda's Nutmeg In 1992, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Johnny Cash and stated “Johnny Cash had all the qualities of a country legend: a rich life, a keen instinct for storytelling and an unflinching eye on the world around him.” It is said that Cash’s humble beginnings made him an authentic storyteller whose plainspoken narrative song spoke to the American everyman.  He wrote songs prolifically but never carelessly. Each one of his songs seemed to capture a deeper truth and resonated with the working man.  12 years earlier, in 1980, Johnny Cash was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.   Johnny Cash had 13 #1 Billboard Country hits between the years 1956 and 1976, with 42 of his songs being featured on the Billboard Hot 100 list.  “A Boy Named Sue” achieved the #2 spot and remained there for 12 weeks.  “Ring of Fire”, my husband’s favorite, made it to the #17 spot and remained there for 13...
