Block 14 - Strip Pieced Lemoyne as Triangle

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with loved ones.  We have a packed house here this weekend.  It is actually quite nice given the last 20 months.  Although at times, it has been a bit of a three ring circus.

I hope all of you received my Black Friday email, sent earlier today, with the Coupon Code for 20% off all my Online Classes and Mysteries.  The coupon expires tonight at midnight, so make sure to check it out.  You can use the coupon on the future mystery as well as past mysteries.  Plus, my entire online catalog.  See my email from this morning for more information.

Block 14 - Strip Pieced Lemoyne as Triangle!  This is a fabulous place to use your beautiful prints that have the majority of the fabric colors used in your quilt.   Strip Pieced Lemoyne is going to be a little more challenging than your basic Lemoyne as Triangle, but not has tricky as Majesty or Liberty Lemoyne.

For our fabric selection, you will want to pick a fantastic print that we talked about above, plus 4 fabrics that read as more tone-on-tone, but should have some texture.

For cutting, be careful with the strips ending in 1/8" and 3/8".  Take your time, consider double rulering it.  Also, place your remnants from your print (Unit B) in a safe place, you will need that remnant for a later Clue.
Make sure to place your strips in the proper position.  The size and placement matter.   Strips #1 and #2 will become your A Starpoint and Strips #3 and #4 will become your B Starpoint.

Once you have your strip sets sewn and pressed proper, be should to place them onto the Background properly.  The skinny strip gets sewn to the background (Strips #1 and #4)

From this point forward, it is almost the exacts steps as a Lemoyne as Triangle, but there are couple extra seams.
You will set your angle and then perform your sub cuts, per usual.

You will sew on the cut offs per usual
You will still trim down.

You will sew them together as Triangles, not Squares, just like you did when you made the basic Lemoyne as Triangle.
Press the seam open and trim the dog ears.
For the next step, here is where you have that extra seam.  You are going to want to nest with the two strips' intersections, plus match that center point.
Pining is highly reccomended.
Then you will sew them onto the Half Square Triangle, which is oversized.
Be very careful, as you have a lot of exposed bias.  Let the machine do the walking
Press towards the HST, again take care not to stretch the unit.
Next trim, always trimmed with the most pieced side of the unit in the upper right for those that are right handed and in the upper left for those that are left handed.
