Clue #1 - Rangeley Ribbon
Woohoo, let's get started! The first set of blocks in Holiday Retreat are Rangeley Ribbon! We will be making (4) of them!
The first formal retreat I taught at was in Rangeley, Maine. I will always be grateful to Dan and Carol Perkins for inviting me to teach at the inaugural Spring Quilt Camp. After one or two years, I started teaching at Fall Quilt Camp and then took Fall Quilt Camp over when Dan and Carol retired and closed their Threads Galore Quilt Shop. So many great friendships were born at Rangeley Fall Quilt Camp! Rangeley, Maine holds a special part in my heart, and I know it does for so many other Quilters over the years.
For my Fabric Selection, I went with the a mix of colors from my Moda-Cheer and Merriment.
Take your time and cut properly. Make sure to take the time to make the best cuts of your fabric. You will want to think them through.

For Unit A - Take you time and make sure you are make you are marking and pairing the proper fabric together. Trim them carefully with your Tucker Trimmer
Then, it is time to make them Rangeley QST, but removing a portion of the side with the Light Fabric.
Tada, aren't they fun?
For Unit B, make the Quarter Square Triangles normally, follow similar steps of A
For Unit C, make Half Square Triangles and trim them with your Tucker Trimmer.
For our D & E units, you will make the Ribbons using the strip pieced method.
Once you have two pairs together, take (4) of them and sew on the Med-Dark square on the end.

Next, sew your block together, making sure to check your orientation and press away from the Rangeley QST units.
Repeat for all (4) Blocks.

Love it! I especially love how easily this block came together.
How Tada! What do you think? Not so bad. This was one of the blocks that had a lot of components, they won't all have this many units.
I can't want to see your block on the Facebook page!
Keep Stitching,
Michelle
