Are you ready? Block 11- The Five Spot
Are you ready? Did everyone catch-up?
The Five Spot, by Nancy Cabot, appeared in the Chicago Tribune, September 23, 1936. The Five Spot is basically a Sawtooth Patchwork Block, that has a Shaded 4-Patch in place of an ordinary half square triangle.
So, you heard right, we are going to make Shaded 4-Patches again! How much do you remember from Week 4? If you need a pictorial refresher on making the Shaded 4-Patch, go back to Block 4's Post: Block-4-of-timeless-with-twist . Get out those Tucker Trimmers!
Those Shaded 4 Patches will go in each corner, and then we will make the Square-in-a-Square units, that we've made in week 10, with the Square2. Together, they create such fun!
For Block 11, I challenged myself to use the same color plan; Aqua Blue (8), Fuchsia (16) and Golden Yellow (24). I selected a Blue Print for my Fabric Selection 1, with a Dark Fuchsia.
So, that is it for this week! Go have fun and I can't wait to see your blocks on the Facebook Group!
I heard from so many of you that you were happy to have the week to catch up and I know many of you did take the opportunity to do so, which made me so happy. Additionally, I heard from many of you that you were thrilled to be able to get Block 1, which was great, I'm glad I could help!
Things are moving along well with my Book preparation, and I wanted to thank you all for being so helpful! The only thing I asked is that you read these blog posts, as they hold a lot of information and I think (and hope) that they provide you with good information. So, if you are reading this, you can get your download here.
So, are you ready? Block 11 is The Five Spot!

Then, I selected a light Fuchsia for Fabric Selection 2, since I have such a Dark Charcoal Background.
