Stop #8 on the Grand Central Mystery Quilt Series!
Hope you are all well. Crazy times!
Can you believe we are on Stop #8? Just 4 more Clues to the reveal! We have a fun unit today!
Before we get to Clue #8, I wanted to provide an update as many of you have asked me how Bella is doing. She is on the mend. She finally got her stitches taken out properly. A couple weeks ago, she took out her stitches out herself, a few days after the surgery. The blow-up donut was no match for Bella. We had to have her go under again and get the stitches put back in. We went old school with the cone of shame. Waited another 10 days, and now the stitches are finally out. Most importantly, the mass wasn't cancer, so we are relieved. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words.
I'm at my Quilting in Vermont~Early Spring Retreat. We are having a great time. I will be posting last night's Show and Share on Facebook later today. You are going to be blown away. Just crazy talented ladies. We aren't letting this Virus situation get the best of us. Everyone is healthy, we are taking precautions and having a wonderful time.
Are you ready for Clue #8 of the Grand Central Mystery Quilt Series?
Clue #8 -
We are are going to make Four-Patch Squared⁴ (to the fourth). You will need the Large Square Squared for this unit. The Square Squared will not work for this unit as it has become too big for that tool.
You will gather the Group 4 Background Squares that you cut in clues #2 and #4, plus the Four-Patch Squared³ that you made in Clue #5. Follow the additional cutting of the Assorted Brights in the Download. Please continue to read my tips and pictorial below.
Make sure to sew with the main unit on top.
Once you have the left side HST sewn on and pressed. Place it back on your paper plate. Check your orientation.
Turn your plate around.
So you can See it, Flip it....

These units can be chain pieced easily.
Next, you are going to repeat with your Background HSTs.

Similar to Clue #5, you are going to want to sew your Assorted Bright HST on first. Make sure to set your plate for success. Setting the last sewn set of Assorted Bright HST in the upper right and lower left corners of your main unit. This is very important.
