Sunset on the Sound Bonus Project & Holiday Extravaganza!

Spring Getaway 2019 is underway at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT.  The Quilter's arrived yesterday.  Everyone is having a fabulous time.  We had Show and Tell last night, it was fabulous.  I hoped to show some photos today, but the internet isn't cooperating, so I will have to post them next week.

For my Sunset on the Sound followers, there is a Bonus project this week, to use up those cut-offs from the Corner Beams.
Summer Days ~ Bonus Project
The Bonus Project Download will be available through until May 3rd.

Wow!  Is all I can say about the completed Sunset on the Sound Quilts being shared on the SOTS Facebook page!  I can't wait to show them to those of you that aren't following along.  If you are following along, please be sure to email me your completed photos of your SOTS quilts by May 17th.  My email is Michelle.hiatt@sewonthego.net

For those thinking about joining in on my next Mystery Series, Holiday Extravaganza,  I have update the Overview download to include the full details, including Fabric Requirements!

At the request of several of my followers, I've pushed this series back one week.   Several of you have stated that you want another week to purchase fabric, so Clue #1 will be revealed May 17th instead of May 10th.   The series will run through late September.**

Okay, so here are some more details, include Fabric Requirements!

HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA
Quilt Sizes: Throw 64” x 64”

Tools Needed:
·        Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star
·        Tucker Trimmer III
·        Wing Clipper I
·        V Block
·        Quilter’s Magic Wand

Tools Recommended:
·     Tucker Trimmer 1 (The Tucker Trimmer III will work, but some of the units are on the smaller size and it would be helpful to have the smaller tool).

Series Info: This is a Mystery Quilt series is for the followers of my newsletter and blog.

Fabric requirements:

·        Background:  4 ¼ Yards
·        Fat Quarters: 24-28 Fat Quarters
o   Preferably with at least 3-4 color and in a holiday theme (Red, Green, and Gold or Red, Green, and Blue, Silver or Dark Blue, Blue, Silver, etc.)
§  I’ve selected Holiday by Alison Glass in Blue, Green Gold, Red, Pink (shown below).

§  My alternate selection is the Vintage Christmas by Bonnie Camille (2018 Line)
NOTE:  You can elect to go with a non-holiday theme.
·        Binding: ½ Yard
·        Optional Border: 2 ¼ Yards (includes Binding)
o   Without this Optional Border, this quilt will not have an official border, more modern.  If you want a more traditional look, select this optional Border.

 Clues & Dates:

·        There will be 16 Clues plus a reveal (Clue #17) – 17 total clues
·        The Clues, providing construction steps, will be posted weekly on Friday, from May 17th through September 20th.   Announced through my weekly newsletter or blog.
·        I built in one “Bye” week and I will do my best to post every Friday, but sometimes life happens, so I want to state up front, there could be a travel week, illness or a family emergency.  Life happens.  So, I will strive for Friday and plan on posting on Friday 99.9% of the time.

·        The clues will provide the construction task for the week, with step-by-step instructions.
o   Each week, you will make either (1) 12” Block or (4) 6” Blocks.
o   Each week, you will see more and more of the blocks -- just enough to keep you guessing!
o   On the last week, and in Clue #17, you will get the final construction steps and the mystery will be revealed.
·        The clues are for personal use only and are not to be shared.
·        The clues will only be up for one week.  You will be responsible to view or download/print your clue each week.  If you missed any clues, you will be able to purchase the series at the end of the Mystery for a nominal fee.

Let me state this up front.  Mystery Quilts are not for everyone.  If you are a person who needs to know what the quilt is going to look upfront, this may not be the project for you.

Be sure to download and get shopping!

Well, I have to get back to the Spring Getaway Retreat.  Remember, registration for next year's Spring Getaway will open next week.

We will be stitching away the weekend,
Michelle
