I've been meaning to post for days.  I had so much fun at Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design's Teacher Certification for both the Fundamental Tools and the Rapid Fire Rulers.  I meet such wonderful inspiring people.  I think that is the problem, I've learn so much and have so much to share, I just don't know where to begin.  So, I will have to pick a few things at a time and do a few posts. So excited.  I've  been selling this pattern at Pennington Quilt Works ( www.penningtonquilts.com ) for several months and it has done really well.   We made kits based on my cover quilt, and we made kits, and kits.... Well it has been forever!!! My apologies, life really took over in the last few months….   Between moving, selling 2 homes, new job, painting several rooms, a bad car accident, stomach flu, appendicitis,   you name it, it happened. I finally feel like I’m getting my life back..slowly but surely.   And I'm going to Deb Tucker's Teacher Certification Class!   We finally closed on the NJ home and moved the rest of the NJ home contents to CT… where we might get settled by the New Year!   OMG, I pride myself being organized but even with the best of organized packing, this is taking a long time.   The house is just completely different from our last; in the NJ house we had rooms and hobbies that use to be on one floor and they are now on another floor in this house.   Plus, we had a last minute change with my main sewing room from going upstairs to the lower level.   Plus, I added a sewing space in the sunroom, to be on the main level an...

A colleague of mine told me she was going on a TV diet....   now I know a diet is needed in my future (soon would be best), but I had to ask what this TV diet it was about. She plans to limit herself to one hour of TV a day so she can accomplish other things in her life.  She said winter is off and she needs to be doing other things.  I agree, but will admit I have to wait until the season finales!  I must know what Alicia is going to do on Good Wife, what happens to my 2 NCIS teams, will Olivia go back to being the President's Mistress on Scandal and will Bailey survive losing 3 patients via her hands on Grey's... oh yeah and do all the Reagans make it through the season on Blue Bloods....  OK, back to the post!  So, in the meantime, I'm giving myself a day where I can't put off stuff for me anymore.  No excuses, it is me time.    Today is day one, so far so good.  I did have to put a load of wash on but it was my clothes.....

2 gallons of Benjamin Moore's Green Thumb, 8 yards of 2000 Longerberger Botanical Fields fabric and two weekends of painting and sewing gets you finished!  Woohoo, ready for furniture. Steve hung the 8th and final handmade valance... Which reminded me of why I stopped making curtains and decide to quilt... But I used home dec stash. But I love it.  I won't lie, I had moment Tuesday night when I was like OMG.  But I love it.  Especially once I get my Koala table and sofa in there. I had to include Hunter who had enough with the sewing and painting... But loves my whole cloth green quilt where I practiced my leave free motion....

Hi all!  I know it has been forever!  Sorry, life has been crazy.  Miss you all. We've been spending most weekends in the CT house even though we don't have much up here yet.  We are still showing our NJ home so we only brought up about a quarter of our stuff.    We think the NJ house is getting close to selling so we decided to do some painting before we move more furniture in and we started with my sewing/sunroom.  Woohoo.  Doesn't it look great!  Yes, you know it was going to be green or blue.  Can't wait to get sewing in it.  Haven't been doing enough sewing of late.  Just crazy busy. I've been working a lot.  Traveling a lot.  However, it is going well.  I'm heading back to NJ next weekend.  Teaching at Pennington on Saturday.  Plus, we are picking up my new Koala sewing table.  Steve will bring it up the following weekend and put it in my beautiful green sewing room.  Can't wait...

I made good use of the snowy evening last night and the snow day today. I go all my blocks pieced and cut down.  Love that ruler!  I just put it up on the design wall and I'm really liking it. Now off to sew the blocks together...

Well, we have some bad weather hitting the East Coast today, so I'm getting a jump on my weekend.  CT, where I work is expected to get hit pretty hard, about 24 inches.  In NJ, we should get off easier... but not pretty.  Especially with 4 dogs - yes we 've picked up another rescue.    What can I say, we can't say no. Jax is adjusting well, those first few days were tough, but going much smoother now.  I'll post pictures later. Any way, onto the reason for my post.   I'm working on a new quilt.  I've drafted the pattern last  weekend.   I'm going to teach a class at Pennington Quilt Works, so I pulled fabric last weekend for the store sample.  We are going to kit it as well.  So exciting.  Love when that happens. I'm going to attempt to do a poll every other week or so... I'd love to commit to every week, but it doesn't seem possible. This week I didn't get out of work in less than 14 hour a day, plus had to drive to CT and back last night. The life of the working class.... Anyway, back to the poll. Do you find yourself getting less quilt magazines? Over the last year; I have found myself more and more disappointed in the content of the quilt magazines, both in quilt patterns and articles. Therefore; as my magazines has subscriptions have approached expiration, I've evaluated how much I would miss that magazine before renewing. I'm actually doing surprisingly well. Last week; While filing away prior issues, I took a look at where I was at in reducing my Quilt Subscriptions. At the end of 2011; I had 10 Quilt Magazine subscriptions.
